FCC

FCC: Federal Communications Commission

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is an independent agency of the U.S. government, directly responsible to Congress. Its primary responsibilities include:

  • Regulating interstate (state-to-state) and international radio, television, cable, satellite, and broadband communications.
  • Managing the electromagnetic spectrum: Responsible for spectrum allocation and licensing to ensure harmonious coexistence of various users and devices.
  • Establishing device compliance standards: To ensure that electronic and electrical devices do not produce excessive electromagnetic interference (EMI), the FCC has set technical standards requiring all relevant devices entering the U.S. market to comply with these standards.

FCC and Water Purifiers

Water purifiers contain electronic components. Any electronic device that generates a clock frequency greater than 9 kHz during operation falls under FCC’s jurisdiction and is subject to FCC SDoC (Supplier's Declaration of Conformity).
Components in water purifiers that may be subject to FCC regulations include:

  • Microprocessor/control mainboard: Controls the operation of the entire unit, the display panel, and button functions.
  • Water pump/booster pump: The motor generates electromagnetic noise during operation.
  • Heating elements and control circuits: Rare earth thick-film heating technology requires power control circuits.
  • Wireless connectivity (if applicable): Such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth modules used for smart control via an app.

These circuits, while operating, emit weak electromagnetic energy, which may interfere with surrounding devices (e.g., radios, televisions, smartphones) either through conductive interference (via power lines) or radiated interference (through air).

Purpose of FCC Certification

The purpose of FCC certification for water purifiers is to ensure that the product:

  1. Does not produce excessive electromagnetic interference that could affect the normal operation of other devices.
  2. Has some level of immunity against interference, ensuring it continues to function even when exposed to normal radiation from other devices.

Purifighter complies with FCC Part 15 regulations for Class B digital devices. Its design, testing, and manufacturing comply with the limits set by the FCC for home use equipment, intended to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential environments. Its electromagnetic compatibility is suitable for home environments, ensuring it does not interfere with other devices.

Residual Chlorine
The pore size of the RO membrane is extremely small (0.0001 microns), and the volume of residual chlorine molecules, as well as the disinfection by-products (such as THMs) generated by the reaction of residual chlorine with organic substances, is much larger than water molecules. Therefore, they ...

304 Stainless Steel Shell
304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel (hence the name "18/8 stainless steel"). Chromium forms a very thin and dense passivation layer on the surface, giving it excellent resistance to rust and corrosion in air or water. It is also resistant to common cleaning agents, ensuring lo...
