FDA

FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) Standard Testing

Regulation of Water-Contact Materials

How to Comply:

All water-contacting components in water purifiers, including:
  • Filter housings (plastic parts)
  • Water pipes and fittings
  • Water storage tanks (if plastic)
  • Faucets (internal plastic seals)
The plastics, rubber, sealants, adhesives, and other materials used in these components must comply with the relevant FDA standards.

What Does "Complying with FDA Standards" Mean?

This means that the materials have been tested and proven to ensure that under normal usage conditions, the chemicals (extractables) migrating into the water from the materials are minimal and within safe limits, posing no health risk to humans. This fundamentally prevents secondary contamination.

304 Stainless Steel Shell
304 stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel (hence the name "18/8 stainless steel"). Chromium forms a very thin and dense passivation layer on the surface, giving it excellent resistance to rust and corrosion in air or water. It is also resistant to common cleaning agents, ensuring lo...

RO Reverse Osmosis Membrane
Reverse osmosis is the process of counteracting natural osmosis. By applying an external force greater than osmotic pressure (typically through a pump), water molecules are forced to pass through the membrane in the opposite direction. Soluble salts, metals, viruses, and other impurities are bloc...
